Our History
Business Communications Roots
JEM Communications was established in 1979 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We began as a business telecommunications provider, installing and servicing key and PBX telephone systems. As the communications industry evolved into a converged voice/data/video solution, JEM also evolved as a provider.
JEM has always embraced the technology curve. When voice mail was in its infancy we were selling it. When PBXs first became capable of networking we were installing them. When Mitel Networks brought to market VoIP products we were among the first to order systems and certify our technicians.
Shift To Railroad Communications
In 2003 JEM was approached by class 1 railroads to solve supplier and quality issues brought about by obsolete and discontinued communication hardware vital to the daily operation and health of the industry. The potential opportunities presented by manufacturing railroad communications products were so vast that JEM elected to devote all company resources to this exciting new venture.
Since then JEM has developed an extensive network of railroad suppliers and manufacturing partners with capabilities to support all facets of the product life cycle and technology needs. Capital investments and dual source strategies ensure that we are able to deliver a quality product on time. JEM is now a leading provider of state of the art software and hardware communications solutions for the railroad industry.

Our Goal
We endeavor to be the conduit through which railroads flow all of their design changes and quality control demands. JEM is a single coordination point between numerous manufacturers and suppliers, providing rapid prototyping of products from simple accessories to exceedingly complex designs.
